The strongest memory is weaker than the palest ink. I write to remember.

As a Canadian, it was interesting to hear your perspective about my country.
Please don’t assume all of Canada is like Manitoba. That province is more western than central (Ontario or Quebec are considered central) and although they have many churches, they have lost their way. Manitoba was the settling ground for the Mennonites & they have become very spiritually progressive, straying far from their evangelical roots.
Each province, as each state, is different. British Columbia (BC), where I live, is very liberal & progressive. We get alot of people moving from other provinces to BC. We live close to the US border & hop over to Washington state for gas & Amazon US deliveries on a regular basis.
Those of us in jobs (non-ministry) must & do count the cost. The more often you stand firm, the easier it gets. Being prepared to give that answer is key. My son is in seminary here & will be a pastor when he graduates.
(Funny enough, we adopted an 8 year old girl from SA in 2010.)
There are some large, thriving evangelical churches here – attendance in the hundreds or thousands.
Canada definitely is socialist and we need Jesus. We are praying for revival.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this! How interesting that you hop over the border for Amazon deliveries & gas! 😊I hope to travel to Canada soon!🤍🙏🏻

😉 Because of our label requirements (have to have French & English) Amazon Canada is often higher priced! We live in a border town so we are able to shop both Canada & US.
If you do come to BC, let me know & I’ll be happy to give you some insider info. 😊

I appreciated Jacob’s view on us Canadians 🙂 The cultural aspect of close families (my husband and I were of those who left our town, headed to the big cities of the west, and then returned when our son was born. We have 4 generations within a few kms of our home now) and the warm hospitality of Canadians (especially in the rural parts) in general is pretty special. But the spiritual reality of this country is grieving indeed for true Christians, and the speed of the nation’s decent into deeper darkness is frightfully fast. Thanks for sharing, and may the Lord continue to raise up workers such as Jacob for His harvest field in Canada, Africa and around the world. Blessings.

The spiritual reality of the United States is the same: pitching headlong into, as you say, deeper darkness. I am thankful for your willingness to write & speak truth, Stephanie! Let’s encourage each other to dig into Scripture & obey God.🙏🏼. And may we support pastors and elders and missionaries who are going to battle against the prince of this world.🤲🏻
